The most wonderful time of the year is here! Wonderful... but also BUSY! It's seems to always be a struggle each year to balance the hustle and bustle of the holidays with staying present and 'in the moment'.
Thankfully crafting has always been like therapy for me, so sitting down to make this pink Christmas tree tassel garland was definitely the break I needed to clear my head space before December officially hits!
Here is the garland styled on my letter board!
Here's what you'll need:
Materials:
Directions:
Step 1: First, create a tassel by wrapping the yarn around four fingers. I wrapped it about 20 times.
Step 2: Next, carefully slide your fingers out and cut the loop. Cut a similar size piece of yarn and tie it around the middle.
Step 3: Take another similar size piece of yarn and tie it around the top to create your first tassel. Trim the bottom so that the tassel is about 2.5 inches in length.
You'll follow the same steps for the second tassel and third tassels, but don't trim off quite as much off the bottom (they'll need to be longer since you'll be layering them under the first tassel).
Step 4: Next you'll glue the second tassel you made, underneath the first tassel. Then the third tassel underneath the second tassel, creating a tree shape.
Step 5: Lastly, add the wooden star at the top and the small wooden balls for ornaments. I chose to leave them natural wood because I liked the look, but you could also opt to paint them!
I chose pink yarn for mine, but you could go more traditional and use green!
To attach your tassel trees together, take a long piece of yarn and weave it through a single loop at the top of each 'tree' and you've got your garland!
Let me know if you try this fun and easy craft and happy decorating!
